KABUL: At least 45 Taliban militants were killed in an airstrike carried out by US-led forces in Afghanistan’s southern province of Helmed, the provincial government media department said in a statement on Saturday.
The statement said that the militants were killed in Deshu and Khanshin districts of Helmand province.
The militants had just returned after carrying out an offensive in Chahar Bolok district of Nimroz province, when they were targeted by US-led airstrike, the statement further said.
Taliban militants group has not yet commented on the attack.
