MULTAN: The Chief Justice of Pakistan Tassaduq Hussain Jillani has said that supremacy of the law and constitution will not be compromised, adding that the judiciary will play its due role if judicial freedom is threatened.

Talking to the media at the district bar association in Multan on Saturday, the chief justice urged lawyers to keep in mind basic principles such as supremacy of constitution, rule of law, provision of justice and struggle against corruption.

The chief justice also urged the lawyers to work hard and lauded the role of lawyers, civil society and the media for restoration of an independent judiciary.

Justice Jillani said that he wants to transform society to one where everyone will have easy access to justice.
