ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Senator Raja Zafarul Haq has been appointed as the leader of the house in the Senate on Monday, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

Haq was appointed by Prime Minister and PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif, while a notification has been issued in this regard.

The position fell vacant when former Law Minister and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator Farooq H Naek, who was appointed Leader of the Upper House by caretaker prime minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso in his government, submitted his resignation last week when his party lost majority in the Parliament.
