Islamabad, Pakistan: The No Objection Certificate (NOC) released earlier by the district administration of Islamabad to PTI for its rally has been suspended over security concerns.
According to details the NOC for public gathering of PTI for July 6, 2024, has been suspended in Islamabad to ‘protect the lives and property of the citizens’. According to the sources, PTI invited organized armed groups including some Afghanis and TTP terrorists from KP and on such information, the district administration cancelled the NOC.
Sources are also confirming that the district administration is likely to crack down on illegal gatherings and will use geo-fencing and other technologies to keep rioters at bay. It should be noted that the top leaders of PTI have been convinced by the district administration that the rally cannot be allowed in the current situation, especially the citizens living around the designated venue of the rally in Islamabad have approached the local police and expressed concern that if the rally is allowed, non-locals, many of whom may be armed, may make the otherwise peaceful environment more dangerous.
Sources also indicate that extremist groups from KP will arrange to conduct a clash with the law enforcement agencies so that in the event of a clash, the party will get some dead bodies and injured for its politics.
The administration of Islamabad has appealed to the people not to fall under the influence of a particular political party and to stay away from illegal gathering places without putting themselves in any danger.
