ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has declared Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Sardar Hussain as winning candidate from Chitral’s constituency PK-90.
The re-polling was held at seven polling stations of the constituency on election tribunal’s directives, after which Sardar Hussain defeated All Pakistan Muslim League’s (APML) candidate Ghulam Muhammad.
The APML’s candidate had won the seat from PK-90 Chitral in the May 11, 2013 general elections by a margin of seven votes. Later, on a petition by the losing PPP candidate an election tribunal had ordered re-polling in seven polling stations to decide the issue.
