ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed has demanded the release of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Lifetime Chairman Imran Khan as he is a political prisoner, as well as remarked that reserved seats must be allocated to PTI-backed Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC).
While speaking on the floor of the Senate of Friday, Mushahid Hussain Syed said that PTI deserves to be allocated their reserved seats after the embattled party emerged as the largest single party against all odds in February 08 general elections.
The Senator said that PTI should not be deprived of their reserved seats, noting that if general amnesty is declared in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and even we felt no reluctance to negotiate with the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Kabul which brutally killed their children, then what’s the point of denying a political party of their due rights.
“We should have a new beginning,” Mushahid Hussain Syed said stressing all-inclusive talks among stakeholders including PTI.
The Senator also demanded the immediate recovery of all missing persons and their rehabilitation. He expressed the pleasure that 578 missing persons of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) have been freed and now whereabout of their only 13 persons is still unknown.
