KARACHI: A petition was filed on Tuesday in the Sindh High Court (SHC) by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) seeking recovery of its missing workers.

The MQM filed the petition a day after its leadership lodged a protest in front of Supreme Court for the recovery of missing workers who disappeared during May 11 elections.

In the protest the MQM’s parliamentarians Farooq Sattar, Babar Khan Ghori, Sufyan Yousuf, Iqbal Qadri and members of Rabta Committee Qamar Mansoor, Mian Atique and others also participated.

Speaking to media representatives on Monday, Sattar had said that during recent elections as many as 30 workers of MQM had been kidnapped. Out of which 20 had been murdered and 10 were still missing.

“Workers were kidnapped by persons without having uniforms, riding in without number plate vehicles. There is a general opinion that they were ‘Rangers’,” he said.
