LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab Chief Minister’s Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab on Information & Special Initiatives Hasaan Khawar has expressed hope that the opposition will suffer a defeat in the No Confidence Motion and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) will stand by the incumbent provincial government.

His remarks came after the opposition members filed a No Confidence Motion against the Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Monday.

   

The motion was filed by the opposition members Rana Mashood, Samiullah Khan, and Mian Naseer amongst others at the Provincial Assembly Secretariat in Lahore.

After filing of the No Confidence Motion, the Chief Minister cannot dissolve the Provincial Assembly while the Speaker is bound to convene the assembly meeting within 14 days.

In his statement, Hasaan Khawar further said that the Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar is in constant contact with the members of the Punjab Assembly. He said that they have the required numbers and the opposition will face a defeat.

Hasaan Khawar said that Chaudhry brothers are well cognizant of the fact that how Sharif brothers defied the promises in the past.

The Special Assistant also said that the Jahangir Tareen group is part of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and they will support the government in the motion. He claimed that they have a lot to surprise the opposition in Punjab.
