ISLAMAABAD, Pakistan: The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has said that the Malaysian Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad is a luminary figure of the Islamic world and we cordially welcome him on his arrival in Pakistan.

In a statement on Friday, the Central Secretary Information PTI Omer Sarfaraz Cheema lauded the federal government for the magnificent arrangements made to accord Malaysian PM with a warm welcome.

   

Cheema said that Pakistan and Malaysia enjoyed brotherly relationship.

“Firm and close relations between both Countries will not only benefit Pakistan but the whole Muslim world as well”, he remarked.

The central secretary information PTI said that Pakistan will learn from Malaysia to reform its economy.

Dr Mahathir Mohamad is currently in Islamabad on a three-day official visit from March 21-23. He would be the Guest of Honour at Pakistan Day Parade on March 23.

Earlier in the day, the Malaysian prime minister held a one-on-one meeting with his Pakistani Counterpart Imran Khan and also delegation level talks.

Meanwhile, Pakistani and Malaysian signed six Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for joint venture in IT, Telecommunication and car manufacturing.

The two Countries also set up a permanent ministerial level committee that will meet regularly to keep enhancing trade between the two Countries.
