KABUL: As expected, Afghan President Hamid Karzai has strongly reacted over direct talks of Taliban with US in Doha and has suspending security negotiations with Washington claiming that there is  “inconsistent statement and action by US” over the Taliban peace process.

According to international media, Aimal Faizi, President Hamid Karzai’s spokesman, said the decision was taken in protest over inconsistencies in proposed US direct talks with the Taliban.

It may be mentioned that Pakistan has welcomed these talks although Pakistan that is one of the most important stakeholders of Afghan war has also not been included in these talks. Talks are sponsored by Saudi Arabia, Qatar and United States While Doha based Al-Jazeera news channel played a pivotal role as go-between of Taliban and Qatri government.
