  • Urges TV Channel to air his statement alike to false news attributed to sources

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Hammad Azhar has termed the allegations of his involvement in May 9 vandalism as a pack of lies and said now false and concocted news from ‘sources’ were being aired on TV Channel to spin a narrative.

Reacting to a news report run on Geo News attributed to sources about his involvement in the vandalism, Hammad Azhar said that he was not even in Lahore on the day and had not contacted any party worker.

The PTI leader stated that the allegations against him were a “pack of lies”, as he had gone away from Lahore for some important meeting on that day. He said: “The case is so weak that they are using ‘sources’ to spin a narrative.”

Hammad Azhar urged the private TV Channel to dare to run his statement in the similar fashion like it aired the concocted and false news from sources as a breaking news.

Hammad said that now a false narrative was being created against those whose loyalties could not be changed.

Earlier, Hammad Azhar also tweeted saying that authorities have illegally sealed our business premises, the oldest steel trading & manufacturing establishment in Pakistan.

“Proud suppliers of steel for Minar-e-Pakistan & other national icons, our company AFCO is known for integrity & quality since 1935,” he wrote.

The PTI leader said that authorities didn’t care about the thousands of employees whose livelihoods depends on such businesses. He added that they did not care about the hundreds of vendors whose businesses will in turn suffer when a manufacturing unit shuts down.
