PoliticsAzadi March Update: Islamabad prepares for influx of rally participants

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl’s (JUI-F) Azadi March enroute to Islamabad from Karachi is inching closer to its final destination, and it’s very likely that the Federal Capital will witness the influx of thousands of people by today’s evening.

The rally led by Maulana Fazlur Rehman left Lahore on Wednesday evening and reached Gujranwala at night.

While addressing the March participants, the JUI-F Chief said that the incumbent ruling elite lacked the efficiency of steering the Country out of economic crises. He said that if they stay in power longer, the Country’s survival and integrity would be jeopardized.

Enroute to Islamabad, the Azadi March will expectedly have a brief stopover in Gujar Khan before entering the Federal Capital on Thursday (today).

As per the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration, Islamabad Expressway, Kashmir Highway and 9th Avenue will be temporarily sealed at the time of entry of rally – which is expectedly be between 11 am to 5 pm.

However, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has chalked out alternative routes for the general traffic in the Capital.
