PTI members privately request NA speaker not to accept their resignations: Rasheed

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The federal minister for information Pervaiz Rasheed on Wednesday alleged that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members privately requested the Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq not to accept their resignations.

In a statement, the information minister said that the PTI Chairman Imran Khan should first confirm his party members regarding submission of resignations from the National Assembly, and then issue statements about it.

The issue of acceptance of resignations of the PTI lawmakers in the National Assembly remains unresolved over question of modalities for verification of their resignations.

The PTI lawmakers came to the Parliament House on October 29 for verification of their resignations but did not appear individually before the speaker. The PTI members insisted that they would appear before the speaker together.

The information minister said that Imran Khan’s claim of electoral rigging has proved a lie and he should now find some other excuse to criticize the government.

The minister said that Imran Khan levels baseless allegations against others which he has to withdraw later.
