Ibrahim said that the Taliban committee has proposed a meeting with the army chief General Rasheel Sharif and director general ISI, adding that the suggestion has been given to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif through the government committee.

The TTP negotiating team member said that their committee has offered the government committee to hold meeting with the Taliban leadership any time to discuss the relevant issues.

Meanwhile‚ another member of the Taliban committee Maulana Samiul Haq said in an interview that all groups of outlawed TTP are supporting the dialogue process. He said that said that any effort to derail the peace process would not succeed.

Maulana Sami expressed the hope that a ceasefire would soon be announced by the two sides.

On Tuesday, both sides held an informal meeting after Professor Ibrahim and Maulana Yousuf Shah returned from North Waziristan after meeting with the TTP’s Political Shura and receiving their response regarding the demands of the government.

During the meeting, the Taliban committee briefed the government team about their talks with the TTP’s Shura, which the government committee described as encouraging.
