PoliticsImran warns against attempts to topple KPK govt

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that if someone tries to topple our government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, we will not suffer rather it will fire back to plotters.

Khan made these remarks while addressing a gathering at D-Chowk in Islamabad on Thursday where the PTI and its allied parties are holding a protest demonstration against US drone strike and federal government’s failure to raise the issue at international forums.

The Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak, provincial cabinet members, the PTI’s national and provincial assemblies’ members, and Awami Muslim League (AML) leader Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed are participating in the protest.

The PTI chairman Imran Khan is leading the protest and it is expected that the protestors will proceed to the National Assembly where a petition against drone strikes will be handed to the speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.

In his address to the participants, the PTI chairman vowed that the protest will continue until US drone strikes stop. He said that his party has taken their protest to the federal capital after holding sit-ins in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which blocked the NATO supplies to NATO forces in Afghanistan.

The PTI chairman said that the federal government is adopting a dual policy on the issue of US drone strikes. He called upon the leaders to be honest with the people of Pakistan.

Imran Khan said that all political parties decided to stop NATO supplies if drone strikes do not stop, but now these parties are criticizing the only party which is PTI for doing so.

Khan said there is a difference between friendship and slavery. He said that Pakistan’s relationship with the US is that of slavery not friendship. He added that the Americans will only respect Pakistan if our federal government starts telling the truth.

Khan further said that that there is a global debate underway over the violation of international and humanitarian laws committed by drone strikes.
