PoliticsPTI challenges appointment of chairman NAB in SC

ISLAMABAD: A petition was filed in the Supreme Court of Pakistan by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Tuesday, challenging Qamar Zaman Chaudhry’s appointment as Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

The petition was filed by the PTI chief Imran Khan who requested the apex court to declare the appointment of Qamar Zaman Chaudhry as chairman NAB null and void.

The PTI chief said that the appointment of new NAB Chief was made in violation of article 6 of the accountability ordinance. He maintained, no serving officer could be made NAB Chief as per set rules.

Imran Khan said a so-called consultation was made by government, and not the entire opposition was consulted for the appointment.
