Absconder Hammad Azhar appeared on the scene: Whose PTI now? Infighting intensifies among five groups within the party

Lahore, Pakistan: Subsequently the swift appearance of Hammad Azhar after the release of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has intensified infighting within the party ranks because Hammad Azhar’s father former Governor Punjab Mian Azhar, and Ch Pervaiz Ellahi have a longtime point-scoring relationship as Mian Azhar felt that his premiership during Musharaf era was stolen from him by Ch Pervaiz Ellahi.

On the other hand, dominated lawyers are also worried that politicians are coming back to the mainstream of PTI. After the dominance of lawyers on PTI, it is often seen that the confusion between different factions of PTI is increasing and the internal power struggle has become quite serious.

The latest example of this is that when Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi was released on May 21, within 12 hours, an absconding criminal, Hamad Azhar, who had been hiding for almost a year since the events of May 9, suddenly came to light. It is quite clear that this is not just an accident but a part of a well-thought-out plan as the PTI is already divided into different factions and with the exit of Chauhri Parvez Elahi, lawyers and second-grade leadership who have no political background like spokesperson Raoof Hassan are worried. Those who wanted to seize power immediately brought Hamad Azhar into the limelight to stop Chaudhry Parvez Elahi from taking over the party in Punjab.

So at this time when the power struggle within PTI has reached the most serious situation in the coming days, this spectacle will be quite visible because on one side Omar Ayub on the other side Rauf Hasan on the third side group of lawyers, on the fourth side Hammad Azhar and on the fifth side Ch Pervez Elah. The stage is set and all factions will try to lead different factions from within the PTI will conspire among themselves to seize power.
