Elections 2013Sindh Rangers' DG opposes army deployment demand in Karachi

KARACHI: The Director General of Rangers (Sindh) on Tuesday opposed demand of army deployment in Karachi while saying that the military will do the same, which is being done by the rangers.

DG Rangers Major General Rizwan Akhtar visited Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI) to meet business community of the city.

DG Rangers said clearly on the occasion while talking to the media that the army calling demand is not appropriate as rangers are trying it hard by using all available resources to improve the situation in Karachi.

President of the KCCI, Haroon Agar, said that this bad condition of law and order in the city is not allowing foreign investors here and made it difficult to complete export orders on time.

Under these conditions, continuation of business and further investment has turned into a very difficult task, added Haroon Agar.

The traders briefed DG Rangers over money extortion and deteriorated condition of law and order in Karachi.

The DG Rangers assured the traders as usual that very soon they would improve the situation.
