Elections 2013Treason case: Lawyer says Musharraf not being allowed to meet counsel, family

ISLAMABAD: Counsel of former president Pervez Mushrraf on Sunday alleged that authorities were not allowing his access to his client, claiming that even family members have been barred from meeting the APML chief who is under police custody at his Chak Shahzad farmhouse.

Speaking to media persons here, Dr. Amjad, who is counsel of Musharraf as well as General Secretary of All Pakistan Muslim League, bemoaned authority’s conduct towards the former army supremo.

“I’m facing acute problems in contacting with him [Musharraf], he can’t use his cell phone, can’t meet his family members his party office-bearers and even my access to him is not being allowed today…In such condition how can we prepare for tomorrow’s hearing of treason case in Supreme Court, this is injustice,” Dr. Amjad said.
