ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will hear the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan’s disqualification reference in Islamabad on November 2.
The reference was filed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Muhammad Talal Chaudhry and six other MNAs seeking disqualification of Imran Khan as MNA under Clause (2) of Article 63 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973.
It is pertinent to mention here that the ECP had served a notice to PTI Chief Imran Khan to appear before the commission in person or through counsel on November 2 at 10:00 am at its secretariat in Islamabad in connection with reference for his disqualification as Member of the National Assembly (MNA).
According to the notice, if Imran Khan failed to comply, the matter would be decided in his absence. As the proceedings were time bound, the respondent was directed to furnish reply also on the date fixed, it added.
