ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The newly elected Mayor and three Deputy Mayors of the Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation will take oath at the Convention Centre in Islamabad on Friday (March 4).

According to the District Returning Officer Aleem Shahab, Special Judge Islamabad Irum Niazi will administrate the oath to Mayor Sheikh Ansar Aziz and Deputy Mayors Chaudhry Riffat Javed, Syed Zeeshan Naqvi and Muhammad Azam Khan.

It is pertinent to mentioned here that elections of a Mayor and three Deputy Mayors were held on February 15.

Earlier in a meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif congratulated Sheikh Ansar Aziz on becoming the first ever Mayor of the Federal Capital.

The prime minister expressed the confidence that under his leadership the elected representatives of Islamabad will work hard for improving the state of affairs in both urban and rural parts of the capital.
