ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan on Tuesday urged the government to take along all political parties in execution of the multi-billion dollar China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

Addressing a news conference along with Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak, members of National Assembly Asad Umar and Jahangir Khan Tareen, he said the CPEC project must be executed as it would be beneficial for the whole country.

Imran Khan criticized the government’s economic policies, claiming that in its tenure the country’s exports, foreign and local investment, and tax collection ratio had decreased.

The PTI chief claimed there was increase in foreign debt, inflation and unemployment.

He urged the government to invest in public welfare projects as it would eliminate poverty from the country. He asked for allocating more funds for health and education sectors.

He also urged all the political leadership to declare their assets, adding that details of all assets of PTI’s core committee members were available at its official website.

Answering a question, he said, PTI leadership was ready to hold a public debate with PML-N at television channels regarding country’s current economic situation and prove its claim.

He said economic situation could not be changed without bringing reforms in Federal Bureau of Revenue.

On the occasion Umar Asad claimed that despite the tall claims by the government, facts and figures showed a rapid decline in investment and exports, increase in cost of doing business and the number of unemployed workers.

Moscow says it won’t allow US to silence UNSC on Israeli violence against Palestinians Monitoring Desk: Russian envoy in United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said that the UN Security Council should bring peace, stability and prosperity to the Middle East and Russia would not allow United States to silence UNSC over the issue of Gaza crisis. According to TASS news Agency, Nebenzya said that Moscow will continue to call for an end to violence against Palestinians and will not allow the US to muzzle the UN Security Council as Washington seeks to support Israel's operation in Gaza. "We will continue to stand firmly for ending violence against the Palestinians. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to expose the abuses and sanctimony with which the US is handling the situation. We will not allow the Americans to gag the entire council with their hands in an effort to encourage further continuation of Israel's ruthless operation," he said in a speech at the Security Council.
