ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The government is taking a number of steps to counter the environmental pollution and chemicals waste, official sources in Ministry of Climate Change.

Government and private sectors had been directed to take environmental approval before setting up of any new project, they told APP.

He said that Environmental Laboratories and Air Monitoring Station at Federal and provincial capitals had been established to serve purpose.

He said that Environment Protection Tribunal had also been established in the country.

Combined Effluents Treatment Plants (CETPs) had been established at Kasur and Karachi.

“Government is determined to manage the pollutants and pollution in country. This is evident from the fact that the vision 2025 process builds upon the largely successful pursuit of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)” he added.
