ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Sale and demand of winter delights particularly ‘Gajar ka halwa’ is on the rise in twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi as the winter season is touching its peak residents of twin cities thronged different shops to buy and enjoy the item.
With the advent of acute cold in the evening , the demand of ‘Gajar ka halwa’ becomes most favorite item of winter has increased manifold and shops in different areas of Rawalpindi and Islamabad were crowded with customers.
Men, women and children come to these shops to hit the cold with ‘Gajar ka halwa’ which is favorite dish of everyone but it becomes more popular in the winter season.
The people have started enjoying the traditional winter item like Gajar ka Halwa, and many other items which are high in demand particularly these days.
Several markets of the city including Saddar market, Raja bazaar, Commercial market, Chandni chowk, G-9 Markaz, Aabpara Market, F-10 Markaz and other places are witnessing stalls of winter delights and the shopkeepers are doing a good business due to high demand and increased sale of their products.
A shopkeeper Rizwan Ahmed at G-9 Markaz said,” Gajar ka Halwa considered to be one of the favourite food items in the winter, sale of this product has double increased comparatively to normal days.”
A resident Farhan Ullah said, “A large number of stalls and shops could be witnessed in different localities of the city selling traditional winter items the only negative aspect of selling product by using sub-standard cooking oil, I urged the authorities concerned to check and balance on this issue immediately he added.”
