LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab Minister for Women Development Hameeda Waheeduddin on Tuesday said that the provincial government would set up more daycare centres in all 36 districts with the aim to facilitate the working women.

Chairing a meeting here at her office, the minister said the daycare centres were being set up under the administrative control of the Punjab Women Development department and all required facilities including safe environment for the kids were being provided there.

The department had so far established 65 centres in 13 districts including 26 in Lahore while this facility would be made available in all 36 districts of the province very soon, the minister maintained.

She said that most of the daycare centres had been set up in various institutions under Women Package 2014 and trained staff had been deputed for care of kids.

The Minister directed the concerned authorities to ensure regular medical checkup of the staff at day care centres besides expediting the process of scrutiny of pending applications for setting up the centres.

She said the Women Development department regularly was monitoring all daycare centres and the record of these centres was being computerized.
