SocialPunjab govt establishes helpline to stop domestic violence

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Parliamentary Secretary for Interior Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that the Punjab government has set up a helpline to register complaints to stop domestic violence in the province.

“Punjab is the only province where a legislation has been passed regarding girl marriage after age of 16 years,” she said while talking to a news channel.

She said the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) government was taking measures to eradicate criminal activities from the society. The severe punishment would be given to the accused involved in domestic heinous crimes, she added.

Replying to a question, Marriyum Aurangzeb said all the institutions were effectively working for the betterment and prosperity of the country.

She said the victory of PML-N candidate Sardar Ayaz Sadiq proved that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf allegations of rigging were baseless. She said not a single job had been given with signature of Ayaz Sadiq but awarded on pure merit.
