LAHORE, Pakistan: Like other parts of the country, preparations to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) are in full swing in Lahore.

Various buildings, roads and streets are being decorated with fancy lights, buntings, banners etc in the provincial capital.

Special programmes are being prepared for paying tributes and to highlight different aspects of the life of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Milad committees were seen busy collecting donations for celebrating the event in a befitting manner.

On Rabi-ul-Awal 12, Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) processions would also be taken out from different areas. Milad Committees were finalizing schedule of ‘Mahafil-i-Naat’.

Various social, cultural, educational institutions and religious organisations are finalising their programmes for Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) with religious fervour.

All bazaars, commercial shopping centres, government and private buildings were being illuminated creatively. Concerned departments have been directed to give every possible help and clearance to routes of processions.

The vendors have set up colourful stalls with unique collection of badges, stickers, buntings, flags and banners inscribed with the slogans paying respect and reverence to the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) in different corners of the cities.

Abid Ali, a stall holder in Urdu Bazar said, “Such occasions give us an opportunity to earn handsome amounts by selling flags, buntings, badges and stickers”.

“The demand of decorative accessories increases before this important occasion as youngsters and children actively buy these items”, he said.

Muhammad Wasif, a student said, “Me and my friends have collected the funds from the neighbours to decorate the whole street with lights and other decorative things”.
