SHANGLA, Pakistan: Deputy Commissioner Saddat Hassan Monday imposed section 144 across the Shangla district barring national and International non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from relief operations in quake hit areas without getting Non Objection Certificate (NOC) from the district administration.

The DC told that if any NGO initiates relief or rehabilitation activity without taking NOC would face strict legal action, adding that district administration is actively engaged in relief and rehabilitation operations and have distributed relief goods among deserving people.

He said that snowfall has started on hill tops of earthquake devastated Shangla district, adding that the extreme cold weather condition would prevail for next few days.

Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner Shangla Taimur Afridi told this scribe that Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) in collaboration with district administration has distributed 2500 tents and 4,000 blankets among the affectees.
