ISLAMABAD: Mobilink Foundation carried out a clean-up activity on Trail-3 of the Margalla Hills in Islamabad.
The activity involved more than 60 Mobilink Torchbearers (employee volunteers), hiking up the Hills, while cleaning the trail of the left over garbage and waste.
The activity was aimed at promoting the need to preserve Pakistan’s natural habitats and marked Mobilink Foundation’s dedication to promoting a healthier lifestyle with Mobilink employees and their families participating in the activity. This volunteer drive was also one of the features of World Wide Fund for Nature’s (WWF) ‘Green Office Program’ and served to educate employees about environmental custodianship and the telco’s responsibility towards conserving the environment.
Omar Manzur, Head of Corporate Communications, Mobilink shared his views on the occasion, “The Mobilink Foundation is the curator of Mobilink’s Corporate Responsibility initiatives and we continue to put an emphasis on the preservation of the natural environment as well as the promotion of a healthier lifestyle for the benefit of our employees and the communities in which we operate. This clean-up activity contributes to purge the natural environment and provides an opportunity for the employees to play their part for a better environment.”
Mobilink Foundation remains committed to preserving the natural environment of Pakistan, and this activity is a continuation of an on-going drive to clean the various trekking trails of the Margalla Hills.
