SocialKPK holds 'ArtTech Festival' for youth to find job opportunities

PESHAWAR, Pakistan: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IT Board in collaboration with World Bank, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Corporation and Peshawar 2.0 is going to hold “ArtTech Festival”, with an aim to promote the indigenous culture and art of the province through the effective use of Information Technology and showcase the creative/innovative skills of KPK youth to enable them find opportunities of employment/self-employment in the local and international job markets.

The two days festival will mainly focus on three broader themes being Storytelling, Design for Good and Innovation, and will offer technical workshop led by international and local expert groups including filmmakers without borders, The Heritage Foundation, Patari, Instagram Peshawar, Daastan and many others.

It will be a first step in raising awareness and building a community of KPK youths interested in the cutting-edge intersection of art and technology.

Technical workshop, Design Expo, Food Stall, Cultural Stall and Music are the important components of the festival.

The two days festival will be held in Peshawar Museum to be inaugurated by KPK senior minister for Information Technology Shahram Khan Tarakai on 20th November (Friday) at 6:00 pm.

It will be attended by delegates/speakers from across the country and abroad, local and international IT companies, IT students and academia of various universities, government dignitaries and media persons in large number.

The provincial government has declared 2016 as the “Year of Technology” with the aim to provide maximum job opportunities to youths, improve the delivery of social services and enhance the efficiency of government departments through the effective use of Information Technology.

The holding of ArtTech Festival is a first step towards that end.
