PESHAWAR: Flood waters inundated more than 40 houses on the outskirts of Charsadda town in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Hundreds of families living along the River Kabul, especially in Nowshera, have fled their houses as the river is in high flood.

Reports said Provincial Disaster Management Authority has directed local authorities to immediately get all houses near the bank of the river vacated to prevent damage to human life, and kick off relief and rescue activities.

More rains and melting of glaciers in upper parts of the country has triggered the floods.

Due to high flooding in Swat River, scores of bridges and connecting roads were closed as authorities fear flood-like situation across the KPK region.
