ISLAMABAD: Commissioner Peshawar Sahibzada Anisur Rehman overnight succumbed to his burns injuries which he sustained during his Islamabad stay some days ago.

It should be mentioned here that body of Sahibzada Anis was 100 percent affected with burns. According to police sources, he went three days ago to see his friends at his flat, where gas leakage caused abrupt conflagration with no time for him to run to safety.

Considered to be an able executive, Sahibzada was offering services on different administrative posts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including FATA for past 25 years.

He hailed from district Mansehra where he was born in 1958. Having graduated from Peshawar University with masters degree, he joined civil service in 1988 and started his career as an assistant political agent in Landikotal.

His father Sahibzada Younis also was attached with the civil service.

The bereaved family includes his two daughters and a son. His son and a daughter are getting education in London. He came to the federal capital from where his son flew to London.

In Islamabad, he stayed at his friend’s flat where he met with the fatal accident. In his first statement after the mishap, the commissioner Peshawar told police that he was in sector-F8, but owing to some unknown people stalking him, he had to proceed to sector-F10.

The funeral prayer for the eternal peace of the deceased will offered today in Abbottabad.

The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
