ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Minister for Climate Change Zahid Hamid Friday apprised the Senate that Balochistan’s quota in the federal government departments has been enhanced from 3.5 per cent to 6 per cent.     

Responding to various supplementary questions during Question Hour, the minister said that presently 2552 employees were working in the Ministry of Law and Justice and its attached Departments.

He said various vacant posts in federal government departments were filled as per the provincial quota. However, he said that less candidates from Balochistan applied, he said.

However, on demand of senators Usman Khan Kakar and others, the Deputy Chairman referred the question to the concerned standing committee for detailed deliberation.

Meanwhile, State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab told the House that currently 93 persons holding FATA’s domicile were working in PIA and their domicile were sent to FATA region for verification. However, only 20 were verified by the concerned authorities so far, he said.
