Social04 dead, 637 injured in 514 road traffic accidents in Punjab

LAHORE: Total 514 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 Districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours, in which 04 lives were lost and 466 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 171 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first on the spot.

According to the details issued on Friday, 203 drivers, 22 Underage Drivers, 92 pedestrians and 346 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show 98 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 118 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 60 RTAs in Faisalabad with 64 victims and Multan remained at third position with 38 RTAs and 49 victims.

The details further show that total 641 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 494 males and 147 females, while age group of the victims show that 97 were under 18 year of age, 389 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 155 victims were reported above 40 years. According to the data, 420 motorbikes, 32 auto rickshaws, 5 motorcars, 13 vans, 52 passenger buses, 23 trucks and 66 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
