KARACHI: The Sindh High Court on Wednesday ordered the authorities to remove immediately blockades from landmarks such as the Bilawal House, Governor House and Chief Minister’s House.

The court was hearing a petition filed by Barrister Rashid Akhtar seeking the removal of road blockades at the Bilawal House, Governor House, CM House and consulates in Karachi.

According to the petition, these blockades caused difficulties for residents and disrupted traffic.

The SP South informed the court that the blockades were placed in light of terror threats at these landmarks.

In reply, the court said that if there is a threat of terrorism fool proof security should be ensured and the residents cannot be caused distress in the name of security.
