KARACHI: With federal government finalizing plans for a decisive operation to restore peace in Karachi, violence continued in the city claiming three more lives.

Police also sprang into action, killing two suspected terrorists and rounding up over 30 more suspected criminals during overnight raids in various areas.

Officials said a police mobile was fired upon in neighboring Manghopir’s Kunwari colony. Police resorted to retaliatory fire and claimed to have killed two terrorists while their companions managed to escape. Their identities were not disclosed.

Meanwhile, in overnight firing incidents in different areas, three people were killed.

The law-enforcers continued their raids and arrested over 30 more suspects, including a proclaimed offender and few gang war members, from various areas.
