ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The habit of reading among the youngsters is on decline as most of the young people devote their time to excessive use of internet.

Information revolution has changed the way youngsters get their information and communicate and they are not interested in taking time out to read books.

   

It is clear that the habit of reading is dying as decreasing number of people spend time with books.

One can see youngsters always busy with their phones and other modern gadgets like laptops and tablets.

One of the students Asad Abbas said, “If i need any information, I get it within seconds with one click.”

There are few left who have the urge to read. According to one such student reading brings inner satisfaction. “It is very relaxing to take up a novel and read it,” she said.

She further said, “Ten years from now, if the trend continues, books will disappear and students will have only textbooks to read.”

A librarian from one of universities told that the demand for the textbooks is on the rise while less number of students are interesting in reading other books.
