KARACHI: Rangers have been given the control of five police stations in Karachi by the provincial government in order to overcome the menace of terrorism.

A notification by the Sindh government has been issued in this regard which says five police stations in Karachi, one each in the five districts, will be run by Rangers as part of their ongoing targeted operations across the metropolis.

The process of Rangers deployment at one police station of each district in Karachi has started following the notification, while the officials said that all the cases against suspects, rounded up during targeted actions of paramilitary Rangers, will be registered in these five police stations.

The police stations which have been handed over to Rangers include Steel Town police station in Malir district, Aram Bagh police station in district South, Nazimabad police station in district Central, Ferozabad police station in district East and Orangi Town police station in district West.
