PakistanPTI nominates Javed Hashmi for PM slot

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has nominated Javed Hashmi as a candidate for premiership, however he has refused to be a contestant for the premiership but PTI officials are trying to convince him to accept the decision.

The decision was announced at a press conference in Lahore on Saturday.

Sheryar Afridi and Manza Hassan would be the party’s candidates for the election of speaker and deputy speaker of the lower house of the parliament, PTI senior leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi told media after the meeting.

He further said that PTI chief Imran Khan would be the parliamentary leader of the party in the National Assembly while Dr Arilf Alvi would be assigned the task of Chief Whip in the house.

The PTI doesn’t enjoy simple majority in the house to get its nominee elected as the prime minister.
