PTI Candidate Rehan Zeb shot dead

PoliticsPTI Candidate Rehan Zeb shot dead

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Candidate from Bajau’s National Assembly Constituency Rehan Zeb Khan was shot dead by unknown men on Wednesday.

Expressing great grief and sorrow over the death of Rehan Zeb as a result of firing, PTI strongly condemned the incident, and demanded an immediate investigation of it to bring culprits involved in it to justice.

In a statement, the PTI Spokesperson said that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and Judiciary should take notice of all violent incidents against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf including the murder of Rehan Zeb.

The Spokesperson said that PTI Candidates and public gatherings have been subjected to continuous terrorist attacks, which is a big question mark on the credibility and transparency of the general elections.

The PTI Spokesman said that after the attack on PTI’s election rally in Sibi, the responsibility for the killing of the National Assembly Candidate lies with the incompetent caretaker governments.

The Spokesperson said that all the focus of the unconstitutional caretaker government is on the agenda of excluding a political party from the elections instead of fulfilling its constitutional duties.

The PTI leader said that the caretaker government has the responsibility of protecting the candidates participating in the general elections in which it has failed miserably.

In addition, the Spokesperson said that after the series of illegal abductions of PTI Candidates, the purpose of the violent acts is to create an atmosphere of fear and force the Candidates to withdraw from the elections.

Meanwhile, the International Human Rights Foundation (IHRF) has strongly condemned the heinous murder of Rehan Zeb Khan, an act of violence that is in stark contradiction to the fundamental principles of respect for life and human dignity.

“In these moments of deep sorrow, our condolences and solidarity go out to the bereaved family, the friends of the victim and the noble people of Pakistan who once again face the shadow of terror and injustice,” the IHRF wrote on X.

“This despicable act not only violates the most fundamental rights of the individual, but also seeks to instil fear and despair in the heart of a society yearning for peace and stability. We reiterate that violence can never be seen as a solution to disputes and social challenges, much less terrorism, which through its cowardly actions seeks to subjugate the indomitable will of the people.

The International Human Rights Foundation urges the competent authorities to conduct a thorough, impartial and prompt investigation to ensure that those responsible for this heinous crime are brought to justice, always respecting due process and judicial guarantees.

We also urge the national and international community to stand united in condemning all forms of violence and to respond to such provocations with the utmost calm and adherence to the principles of non-violence.

It is imperative to promote dialogue and seek peaceful solutions to conflicts without resorting to aggression, thereby ensuring the well-being and progress of society as a whole. Together, with an unwavering commitment to peace and justice, we can build a more promising and secure future for all,” International Human Rights Foundation said.
