KARACHI: A petition has been filed in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) seeking re-polling in the entire constituency of Karachi’s NA-250.

In the petition, the MQM has contended that re-election should be held in entire NA-250 instead of just 43 polling stations of the constituency.

The ECP announced on Tuesday that re-polling at 43 polling stations in Karachi’s NA-250 constituency would be held on May 19. However, the MQM rejected Election Commission’s decision to hold re-polling in 43 constituencies in NA-250.

The MQM leader Wasay Jalil while speaking on the occasion said sit-in would continue till the decision for re-polling in entire constituency.

Hundreds of MQM workers and supporters staged sit-in since last night before the ECP Karachi office to press for their demand.
