NationalOIC Secretary General arrives in Pakistan for three-day visit

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha accompanied by a five-member delegation arrived in Pakistan on Saturday for a three-day visit.

His visit occurred at the invitation of the Foreign Minister of Pakistan Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Upon his arrival, the OIC secretary general was received by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to OIC Rizwan Saeed Sheikh and the Director General OIC Farrukh Iqbal Khan.

During his three-day visit, he will be holding meetings with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and the Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to discuss issues on the agenda of OIC including Jammu and Kashmir, Islamophobia and humanitarian situation in Afghanistan.

Hissein Brahim Taha will also visit the Asad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

His visit will enable exchange of views on how OIC can galvanize itself further to deliver on the aspirations of 1.9 billion Muslims that it represents.
