ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly has passed the Protection of Pakistan bill with a majority vote, the bill seeks to curb threats of terrorism and protect the law abiding citizens.

The government rejected all amendments suggested by the opposition.

The opposition parties opposed the bill and staged a walk out from the House to register their protest. They alleged that the bill is against the fundamental rights.
