Lyari peace agreement signed between Baba Ladla, Uzair Baloch groups

KARACHI: A Lyari peace agreement has been signed between Uzair Jaan Baloch and Baba Ladla groups while Lyari Ittehad Committee has also been formed for peace in the area, the Qaumi Awami Tehreek (QAT) President Ayaz Latif Palejo said on Saturday.

In his address to a press conference along with delegations of Baba Ladla and Uzair Baloch groups at his residence on Saturday, Palejo issued a nine-point joint communiqué and said that Uzair Baloch and Baba Ladla factions have ended their differences and announced a ceasefire in Lyari.

Palejo said that he would head the Lyari Ittehad Committee, adding both groups would approach the committee in case any misunderstanding.

The joint statement also appealed to the migrants of Lyari to return to their homes.

It was also demanded in the statement that targeted operation should be carried out against criminal elements even they were present in Lyari, Malir or Nazimabad areas.

It also demanded Rs2 million each for the victims and Rs0.5 million each for the injured of Lyari violence.
