PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved the formation of a special anti-terrorism force to curb terrorist activities and maintain durable peace in the province.

It was revealed by the provincial department of interior affairs on Monday which notified the formation the new and independent anti-terrorism force in the province.

The new agency will act as lead force against terrorism and special training will be imparted to its personnel. Similarly, CCTV cameras will be installed at important places in big cities of the province to improve the security system.

It was decided that two new model police stations will also be established in Peshawar and Mardan.
