ISLAMABAD: The Independent Power Producers (IPPs) on Friday assured of producing additional 1300 to 1500 megawatt electricity before the advent of Ramazan to give relief to the people.

A delegation of twenty-eight IPPs met Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad on Friday to discuss the issue of circular debt.

   

On the occasion, the finance minister said the entire circular debt will be paid off in shortest possible time to reduce power shortage.

Ishaq Dar said the government is concerned about the sufferings of the common man due to power shortage. As holy Ramazan is fast approaching‚ the urgency of providing relief to the masses has increased.

The minister constituted a sub-committee to solve all outstanding issues regarding circular debt.
