Former BJP leader Jaswant Singh in very critical condition

NEW DELHI, India: The former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jaswant Singh is in a very critical condition and in coma in a New Delhi hospital after he suffered a severe head injury at his residence, according to Indian media reports.

“Former BJP leader Jaswant Singh is in very critical condition after suffering a head injury at his home early Friday,” the government said in a release.

The 76-year-old former defence minister was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Army’s Research and Referral hospital in Delhi in a highly critical condition with injury to his head after his family members brought him to the hospital after finding him lying on the floor of the house in an unconscious state, the defence ministry said in a statement.

“At present the condition is very critical. He is on life support systems and under constant monitoring by a team of neurosurgeons and critical care providers,” the ministry said.
