Monitoring Desk: Azerbaijan attaches particular importance to sustainable urban development, said Representative of the President of Azerbaijan for Climate Issues Mukhtar Babayev while addressing participants of session on “Developing Azerbaijan’s First National Sustainability Standard: The Sustainable Practices Standard (SPS)” organized as part of the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13), reports Azertac News Agency.
He stated that Azerbaijan attaches particular importance to sustainable urban development, environmental responsibility, and climate resilience and organization of the forum itself has incorporated sustainability considerations, including “greener” event management approaches and internationally aligned sustainability standards. This work also aligns with broader national priorities pursued under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, including sustainable development, environmental protection, “green” growth, and the transition toward cleaner and more resilient economy,” Mukhtar Babayev added.
