‘Unmistakable signs of rise of Coronavirus in Pakistan’, says Asad Umar

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar has urged the people to take Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) against COVID-19 seriously; otherwise, restrictive actions may again be imposed leaving negative effects on peoples’ livelihoods.

In a Twitter statement on Thursday, Asad Umar said that there are unmistakable signs of the rise of Coronavirus in the Country.

Asad Umar said that the national positivity of COVID-19 Cases was 2.37 percent yesterday, the highest positivity in more than 50 days.

The federal minister said that 11 COVID-19 deaths on average have been reported during the first four days of this week. As per the data updated by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) on Thursday morning, 756 people were infected by Coronavirus and 13 lost their lives to it in the last 24 hours across the Country. Since February 26, a total of 321,218 people have so far contracted Coronavirus and 6,614 have succumbed to it in the Country.

The federal minister said that 11 COVID-19 deaths on average have been reported during the first four days of this week.

This week from Monday to Wednesday, 8, 14, and 13 COVID-19 patients lost their lives each day respectively.

As per the data updated by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) on Thursday morning, 756 people were infected by Coronavirus and 13 lost their lives to it in the last 24 hours across the Country.

Since February 26, a total of 321,218 people have so far contracted Coronavirus and 6,614 have succumbed to it in the Country.

However, 305,395 people, which makes 95.1 percent of the total infected persons, have recovered now.
