Preparations are underway for the annual Raiwind Ijtema which will begin on November 2.

The Tableeghi Ijtema (Congregation) has been divided into two parts – each will last for four days. The first part will kick off on November 2 and end on November 5 while the second part will take place from November 9-12.

In the first part, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Sargodha, Bakhar, Khushab, Mianwali, Talagang, Karak, Bannu, Lucky Marwat, Chitral, Dir, Bajaur, Kashmir and Sindh province except Karachi City have been included.

Whereas Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Narowal, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Lodhran, Rahim Yar Khan, Swabi, Mardan, Hangu, Kohat, Malakand, Dargai, Orakzai agency, Kurram agency, Kohistan, Gilgit and Baltistan have been included in the second part.

Meanwhile thousands of faithful from across Pakistan and other Countries as well have started to arrive in Raiwind to participate in the Ijtema. 

On the eve of Tableeghi Ijtema, Pakistan Railways has announced to ply three special trains this year which will take people from Sukkar, Nawabshah and Rohri to Raiwind.

In a bid to facilitate Ijtema participants, Cellular Companies have also set up mobile towers.

The Ijtema administration and volunteers are engaged in electricity work whereas temporary toilets have already been set up. Likewise, hundreds of eateries are also being set up for the participants.

In addition, proper security arrangements are being ensured; and apart from deployment of security officials at the Ijtema venue, body scanners are also being set up.

Chief of the Air Staff expressed his gratitude for the honour of receiving the Bahrain Medal - First Class. On the sidelines of Bahrain International Airshow, Commander of Ninth Air Force (US Air Forces Central Command — AFCENT), Lieutenant General Derek France called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
